AN AVANT-GARDE PROJECT

Land art arises from the premise that the natural elements can become works of art in an almost sacrilegious fusion of materials and elements – some inconceivable pairings become unique and distinctive in their own right, if one has the ambition to believe in a stylistically avant-garde project. This is how a combination of plastic and metal can become designer eyewear that carries within it the personality of a pure work of art.
It was a sure stroke of luck that they were not drenched from head to foot during their visit to the temporary exhibit of land art in the woods north of Lake Ghedina: the sky was black and swollen, the cloudbursts sudden and violent. They spent almost an hour protected by the thin steel and Plexiglas sheets that surrounded a work of pure artistry: the ancient fir. What seemed a gamble to the untutored eye was, for them, both lovely and heaven-sent.
